FILL-IN OPTOMETRISTS

Cynthia Reynolds-Temple, OD

Dr. Reynolds fills in at Nova Eye Care Center on an as-needed basis. She has practiced Optometry for over 20 years and is licensed in 7 states. She specializes in contact lens fitting, eyeglasses and diagnosis, and treatment of various eye diseases such as glaucoma, dry eye, allergy eyes, and eye injuries.  After selling her solo private practice and leaving 2 hospital staff positions in Chicago, Illinois, she has moved with her family to the DVM area.

Her interests include sports eye injuries and protection; she has worked with optometry students to conduct sports vision clinics for Little League Baseball teams and B.I.G. Baseball Academy.

Dr. Reynolds has held various positions including President of the Chicago Central City Optometric Society and Executive Council of the Illinois Optometric Association.

She attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa for her undergraduate education and the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois for her Bachelor of Visual Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees. She completed her externship at the Chicago Osteopathic Hospital.

Deborah Kim, OD

Dr. Deborah Kim provides occasional coverage as an independent Optometrist at Nova Eye Care Center in Alexandria.   She graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a background in psychology and natural sciences.  Thereafter, she completed her optometric studies at the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated with honors.  She was trained to perform post-operative cataract and glaucoma laser procedures, and minor lid surgeries to the Native Americans alongside the ophthalmologists in Oklahoma. These procedures are rarely learned by optometrists.  Dr. Kim strives to be attentive to the ocular concerns of her patients as she has an uncle who is blind due to poor vision care.  She especially enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses and managing ocular disease.

Aside from eyes, she is passionate about USC and Redskins football, yoga,  foreign cuisine, and serving in overseas missions.  Currently, she resides in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband.

Robert W. Stetekluh, OD

Dr. Robert Stetekluh provides part time coverage as an independent Optometrist at Nova Eye Care Center. He grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1977. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from James Madison University in 1981 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in1985.  He is well trained in providing comprehensive eye care, contact lens fitting, and evaluation and treatment of emergency and chronic eye diseases.  After graduation, he returned to Northern Virginia and practice as an independent Optometrist in Alington next to Lenscrafter and a few private practices in this area. Dr. Stetekluh has performed eye examinations for the needy through the Gift of Sight program for many years and is a regular blood donor with American Red Cross.
